Week - 6 Discussion - 2 Wrongful Convictions
Q Consider how criminals may become victims. What are the common causes of wrongful convictions? Are wrongful convictions occurring with increased or decreased frequency? Explain.
There can be several causes of wrongful convictions. Some of them are Bad Lawyering, Snitch Testimony, Government Misconduct, False Confessions, Junk Science or Invalidated Forensic Science, Eyewitness Misidentification, and so on. The disappointment of exhausted legal counselors to research, call witnesses, or get ready for trial has prompted to the conviction of honest individuals. Bad lawyering can incorporate the general inability to get ready for trial, to examine the crime and the litigant’s vindication, and to test witnesses and specialists.
